Navy to NASCAR

Naval Academy alum Jesse Iwuji used to drive ships on the ocean. Now he drives cars and trucks at breakneck speeds on NASCAR tracks. But Jesse hasn’t hung up his uniform. He’s still an officer in the Naval Reserves, the only current NASCAR driver who has served in the military and still does. And he’s made his Navy role and recognition of others who serve as much a part of his NASCAR brand as his skill behind the wheel. For this Shipmate Magazine piece, I was lucky to catch Jesse between a race weekend and driving the several hours home to ask a few questions about his pretty amazing feats, on the track and off. Of course I had to ask some car questions that I figured some of the readers would want to know about.
