Navy Blue & Gold Wave In Congress

A record number of women and veterans were elected to Congress in 2018. Two of them, Mikie Sherrill and Elaine Luria, are women veterans and graduates of the Naval Academy. The Academy’s alumni magazine, Shipmate, wanted a feature as soon as possible after the Congresswomen got settled in on Capitol Hill. I coordinated with their aides and went to the Hill to interview them. I had 30 minutes to get as many good comments as possible, and the Congresswomen did not disappoint.  I also talked by phone with two other Academy alumni who had served in Congress, to get their words of advice.
