Naval Academy Engineering Challenge

The Naval Academy Foundation wanted this feature to interest alumni in the defense industry in sponsoring senior-year engineering research projects that have been threatened by cutbacks in government funding. I interviewed midshipmen, faculty and corporate officers, on the phone and by Skype, to get the nuts and bolts and good quotes. It was a fun  story to research and write, especially since the Boeing team went on to win their intercollegiate competition. Go Navy!
