7 Minutes Saved Him

Admiral Tim Keating had a stellar career. He’d flown combat missions in Vietnam, held major command in Operation Iraqi Freedom, helped bring big changes to the Navy. But what he thinks about every day are the people who didn’t make it out of the Pentagon conference room on September 11, 2001, where he had been only seven minutes earlier.  I had the pleasure of interviewing Admiral Keating and writing this profile  for the Naval Academy alumni magazine, Shipmate, when his classmates named him a Distinguished Graduate in 2018.
